History
Of Our Club
The Rochester Sertoma Club recently celebrated its 50 year anniversary this summer! Originating members of the
club remain active today. A couple of decades ago the original club split to
form a noon club to provide access for members unable to attend the morning meetings.
At that time the Rochester Sertoma Club was renamed Sertoma 700.
From its inception, Sertoma 700 has been one of
the largest clubs in the district with an average membership exceeding
65 people. Actively participating in district, regional, and foundation-based
activities, Sertoma 700 is often recognized for our generosity.
Sertoma 700 members have served in district and
regional leadership roles. Today the district governor is a club
member. Sertoma 700 has also hosted a couple of regional meetings
in the past 20 years.
The club's greatest achievement has been the ability
to serve our community. Over the past 15 years, the club has generated
and provided to the community more than $100,000 in donations towards
the deaf and hearing-impaired, and youth activities.
