Sertoma 700 Fundraising
Sertoma 700 hosts fun and exciting casino parties
as our main fundraiser.
All members
that participate have a great time. Knowing that we can have
fun AND raise
money is one of the reasons our club is strong.

Local businesses hire us to
entertain at holiday parties. We supply all of the equipment
and volunteers. Many of our casinos are
annual events that both members and party-goers look forward
to every year.
Thank
you to all who have had, and will have, a Sertoma 700 casino
party! Through these efforts, we raise approximately $17,000 annually to be used by area services, such
as:
- Boys and Girls Club
- Rochester Reparatory Theatre
and Rochester Civic Theatre
- The Hearing Aid Bank -
provide reconditioned or new hearing aids to individuals
that can
not afford them
- Rochester Deaf Club -
we send kids to Camp Sertoma each year
- Camp Olson - donation
to help underprivileged kids to attend camp
- Rochester Youth Baseball, Soccer and Hockey
- team sponsorship
- Project Pipsqueaks - an indoor playground
located at the United Way building
- Sponsor a sign language mentor for deaf
children
- Sponsor a hearing and
service dog to be trained and used in Southeast Minnesota
- Purchase smoke detectors
for hearing-impaired adults and children
2005 was the first year
we issued scholarships for hearing-impaired high school seniors.
We offer
at least
$1,000 in scholarships each year to seniors
who will be pursuing education at the secondary level.
Students
must have a demonstratable
hearing loss, as well as complete an application.
This is offered in coordination through the
Rochester Public
Schools
and
will be published for any hearing-impaired
student who goes to school or resides in Olmsted County.
